Tuesdays 9am - 10:30am @Sadhana Center for Yoga & Meditation 403 Warren St. Hudson, NY
Easeful uprightness and comfortable movement are innate in every human. Yoga can be a tool for restoring and cultivating natural body positioning and coordination. In this class we will utilize Yoga asanas as (1) tools for studying our bodies’ tendencies and needs and (2) vehicles for creating balanced mobility, stability, resilience, and freedom. Mixed level class; some yoga experience suggested.
Similar to traditional Yoga Nidra, Sound Nidra is designed to invoke yogic sleep or deep calming of the mind. In a Sound Nidra session, live musicians rooted in Indian Classical Music accompany supported yoga postures that progressively open and unwind various territories of the physical and subtle body. The progression of both postures and sound offers a journey through layers of psyche, emotion, consciousness, and existential experience. Instrumentation typically includes the Indian bansuri (bamboo) flute, voice, gongs, tuning forks, sitar, tabla, frame drum and other percussion instruments.
